So Tuesday's workshop... Hmm... I can't really remember much about it to be honest. Maybe I should remember to blog the same day rather than leave it till days later when nothing's fresh in my mind anymore...
What I DO remember is somehow getting distracted by Facebook. I suppose Linda Stone would have something to say about "continuous partial attention" regarding this.
Still, at least social networking sites were relevant to that workshop - we were, in fact, going over an article called "Why the Youth Heart Social Networks" - most of it was about MySpace (does anyone use that anymore?) It brought back memories of the days I used to use that particular site - until I was introduced to the far superior Facebook. Why is Facebook better than MySpace? I'm not quite sure - I suppose in some ways it feels cleaner and easier to use, with more interesting features. MySpace could get messy at times - especially when it came to HTML codes just to make your profile look somewhat decent, instead of being stuck with the hideous default colours of orange, white and blue.
Anyways, I don't want to ramble so I will leave this blog at that!

Giving you headers
Today was all about tweaking these darn blogs using Photoshop. As you can see, I created a very professional-looking header for my blog above. It almost looks as if an actual artist has done it, doesn't it?.. Nah, I don't think so either.
Well, it may not look like much but it actually took me well over an hour to do... Not because I found Photoshop difficult to use - on the contrary, I found it rather easy when given simple instructions. No, what took up most of my time was working out how to use the Apple Mac. I simply could not fathom how to right-click the image and make it editable. I did what the instructions said and clicked over and over again - no joy. After about 15 minutes of working this out I overheard someone else with the same issue and she was told to hold 'ctrl' as she did it. It would have saved me so much time if the instructions had stated this.
Give me a PC any day. The Apple Mac is certainly one form of new media I do not get on well with.

First day
The first day was like any other first day, really - just introductions. Incredibly exciting. We learned about 'New Media' and were asked to provide examples of each of the features of it.
This first workshop was also where we were asked to create these blogs so - tah dah!
